I hope you all enjoyed your week, and hopefully you had amazing weather like we did! Fall is finally here and the weather has been slowly transitioning, and it feels great. Let’s get into these weeks highlights, shall we?
Have you ever been to bulk barn? If you haven’t, please do!! For those who don’t know, bulk barn is a store that sells food in bulk. You can get anything you want, no matter how little or how much of it you need! The store is always so exciting to go to, and I always spend way more money than I should. It’s a good way to discover new foods or buy “unusual” foods you might need for recipes, without committing to a huge portion! They recently opened one near my house, which I’m still debating if that is a good or bad thing. Oh well, this place is great!
Sunflower Seed Butter
This highlight of the week is totally dedicated to Jacklyn from Jacksbalancingact.com (her blog is really great and very fun to read so check it out!). She talks about sunbutter SO often that when I passed by the nut butter section at bulkbarn and saw sunflower seed butter, I just needed to get some. Let me just say… OMG. She was not joking at all, this stuff is seriously amazing. I’ve been eating it by the spoonful and I’m already almost out! This sunflower seed butter is my new obsession. I don’t have a picture for this one because there is barely any left :(.
This Week’s Weather
I already mentioned it briefly at the beginning but I have been in an absolute state of admiration with the recent weather. It’s always sunny, with barely any clouds and the temperature is PERFECT. Not too cold, not too hot, but a wonderful in between that I just can’t get enough of. It’s the kind of weather that makes you want to go for long walks, which I have been doing all week!
This Friday was the annual gala at my work and it was a blast. The theme was to dress in white, and everyone seemed to have respected the rule! There was a candy bar, a photobooth and lots of awesome company. The venue was also incredibly nice and I got my fair share of amaretto sour’s (which were so addicting).
My boyfriend and I like to go to this restaurant only on our anniversary, since it’s quite pricey. Even though our anniversary is in June, we finally got around to making a reservation! The food at Gibby’s is like no other, the bread they serve is slightly sweet and so tasty and even their salads are to die for! For supper, I had the rack of lamb with a Monte Carlo potato. Let’s start by talking about this heavenly double baked potato. It has a velvety texture with cheese, bacon and probably cream mixed in to make the most amazing and tasty twice baked potato. The Rack of lamb was breaded and served with a mint jelly. I was so surprised to see that the mint jelly accentuated the taste of the lamb so perfectly; it’s as if it made the lamb taste stronger, if that makes any sense. We also got a nice wine (aka the cheapest one on the menu) and we took our time enjoying every sip over the course of our dinner. On top of that, Gibby’s is an excuse to dress up fancy, so it’s definitely a fun night!
Michael Kors Splurge
Something clicked off in my brain this week and I decided I needed a nice pair of heels. If you are wondering, I basically don’t own any heels, so this was a big deal. I saw these Michael Kors heels and just knew I needed them! These are definitely shoes that I’m unaccustomed to wearing, but they are so much fun to wear! I wore them at the work gala and at Gibby’s, so they were broken into quite nicely this weekend. I have no idea if I will be wearing them again anytime soon, but I sure will be admiring them in the meantime!
There you have it! I will finish off this post by wishing you all another great week and I hope you get/got to enjoy the lunar eclipse! That is definitely what I am going to do now:).
What was your favorite moment of the week?
