Top 3 Friday #5: All the Food and Starting a new Internship!featured

Happy Friday!

Today is a very happy Friday, I’ve had quite the awesome week and I can’t wait to look back at it.

Head on over to Kate’s blog to check out her Top 3 Friday link up!

Top 3 Eats

1. Skinny Alfredo Spaghetti Squash

I had this last weekend and oh man, this is so good. I recommend adding chicken into the recipe because I ended up starving later on, but nonetheless, SO GOOD.Spaghetti Squash

Spaghetti squash is one of those miracle vegetables I will never truly understand.

This recipe is cheesy heaven, you should all definitely try it out!

2. White Wine Mussels

During my clinical nutrition rotation (yes, I’m done my foodservice rotation!!), I’ll be staying at James’ during the week since the commute is way faster this way.

James outdid himself one night while I was finishing up 4 reports (yes, 4 reports) and made mussels!!! Seriously, I think he’s trying to impress you all ;).White Wine Mussels

This was absolutely delicious.

3. Cafe Regine

James and I had the most amazing and indulgent breakfast at a really popular brunch place in Montreal. We were lucky enough to get there before the lineup started!French Toast, Strawberries and Mascarpone

I had the homemade french toast (can we talk about the size of those slices?) with raspberry jam and mascarpone. Regine

James also has the french toast with pulled ham, an egg and FUDGE sauce. Believe it.

Top 3 Highs

1. Chromalisa

My sister started a shop on Etsy and she is seriously beyond talented.Chromalisa Painting

All her paintings are done by spray paint and seriously, it amazes me. James’ apartment already has two of her paintings and he receives SO many compliments about them.

Please check her out, her work is amazing yet so incredibly cheap since she is just starting out. The quality of her work could easily go for over 100$, so I think it’s worth to check her out before she blows up (oh yeah, she will!).

2. Starting my Clinical Nutrition Rotation

In all honesty, my food service rotation might have become a little dull after awhile, and after 3 and a half weeks, I was so ready to move on.

I am doing my clinical rotation at an extended care center and it’s been awesome so far. Today I familiarized myself with reading charts and gathering information from them. Soon, I’ll be implementing some nutrition interventions and I am so excited!

I’ve also been learning quite a bit about tube feeding and it’s really awesome.

I’m just so glad that I am so excited about this stage, I actually look forward to going everyday, which is important to me.

I can talk more about what I do over the next weeks, if you want me to!

3. Discovering Black Bean Pasta

I know this should be in my eats but finally finding it at Bulk Barn was a highlight in itself!

This pasta is so packed with fiber and protein it’s almost scary (in a really good way). I ate it with a homemade tomato sauce and added in some leftover mussels, so delicious.

I recommend checking this pasta out!

Top 3 Lows

1. Being a huge procrastinator

Like I mentionned before, I had 4 reports to write and a summary to submit since it was the end of my food service rotation. Like I ALWAYS do, I left it all to the last minute. I spent every evening this week frantically writing these reports and regretting my inability to be efficient.

Of course, that affected my blog because I once again couldn’t participate in WIAW, which I wanted to! I was also so not present in the blogging world this week, so I am sorry, once again!

2. Not ever having the motivation to work out

Can someone please help a girl out? I never have motivation to workout and although I do, I still feel like I don’t work out enough. I am also constantly forcing myself to work out, which is just not fun.

Does anyone have any fun workout recommendations for me? Please, I’m begging.

No third low!

Can someone tell me how one makes such beautiful looking smoothies?!

Okay, I know, every week I have a favorite dog pic… But…. I mean, come on, LOOK AT THEM.

Kate, this is directed to you, can you please send some of these guys up to Canada??? Thaaaaanks ;)! (Also, please tell me you’ve tried these).

Have a happy weekend!

What are your top 3 moments this week??
