Hey everyone! Happy Thanksgiving to all my fellow Canadians, I hope you all had a great weekend. This week, I’ve got lots of food highlights as well as awesome facts and tricks I learnt, so let’s get into it!
Breakfast for Supper
Breakfast is one of my favorite meals ever, and I firmly believe that it should be eaten at any time of the day. For supper? Yes, it’s the best thing ever. This supper was truly something I was looking forward to eating all day!
Everyone needs this trick in their lives. I don’t even know how I went this long without knowing this! The trick is simple, you assemble your grilled cheese as you usually would and then add butter to a pan. Let it melt and place your grilled cheese in the butter. Once the grilled cheese has browned a little, flip it and add about 1 tablespoon of cheese on the outside of the bread and then flip it again so that the cheese melts and browns on the bread. Repeat the same thing on the other side, and you are left with the perfectly crispy grilled cheese. You’re gonna have to trust me on this one.
While browsing nutrition articles on the Harvard School of Public Health, I found a super interesting fact about coffee. Apparently, it is better to drink coffee that was brewed with a paper filter as it removes a substance that can increase LDL cholesterol (aka the bad cholesterol that can lead to heart diseases). That’s definitely an interesting fact to know!
Have any of you ever used Uber before? I had the best experience this weekend and felt like I needed to share about it! I’m so impressed with this service! For any of you who don’t know what Uber is, it is basically like a taxi service, where you can request an uber from your location and you get to see how close the drivers are to you. We requested an uber saturday night and were in the car within 2 minutes! Plus, it’s super cheap and charges your credit card directly, so there’s no need to worry about needing cash on you.
I went to this bar on Saturday night and was so impressed by the service, the atmosphere and the drinks menu! It’s not often that you get served so amazingly when at a bar; I mean they brought us cucumber water while we waited to get served! The drink I got was slightly on the strong side, but I did taste their other drinks and they were amazing! We also got cheddar and caramel popcorn by the brand Bad Monkey, and oh my was that ever amazing.. If ever you live in Montreal and are looking for a good bar, I highly recommend this one.
An invention sent down by heaven itself, this cake is something else. Pulling a part little balls of dough coated in sugar and pecans? It tastes as good as it sounds (and looks)!
Looking back, I’m seeing my food intake this weekend hasn’t been on much of the healthy side (I’ll blame thanksgiving?!). I’m looking forward for the week to begin and for me to start eating lighter and healthier foods again (I’m getting fed up with being so full haha), I hope you all have a great week!
